Orientation Year

The Orientation Year (OY) is a one-year preparatory stage of a seminarian who finishes Philosophy and is about to enter into Theology. It is an orientation to the missionary identity, community life, and distinct charism of the Lorenzo Ruiz Mission Society. It is introducing the seminarian into the life of the missionary society. After a seminarian goes through this intensive formation, he makes his first temporary commitment to the society. Three consecutive temporal commitments will qualify him for Diaconal Ordination. An Orienation Year seminarian is one who has finished the Philosophy subjects required of him for Theology. He has to be clear that he decided to join the Orientation Year free from force and any form of coercion. It is his free choice to submit himself to the Charism and call of the Lord to serve the people of God.
