On April 6, 2017, five seminarians of the Lorenzo Mission Institute took their profession of faith and promise of celibacy before their Rector, Fr. Jose Vidamor B. Yu, LRMS in preparation and as a requirement for Ordination to the Diaconate. Those who made this undertaking were: Seminarians Peter Xu, Andrew Wu, Joel Bonina, LRMS, Riel Palmario, LRMS, and Aidan Zaballero, LRMS.
On March 26, 2017, nine seminarians among these graduates are from the Lorenzo Mission Institute. 5 graduated in Theology while 4 graduated in Philosophy. The graduation was held at the San Carlos Seminary Chapel and was preceded by the Holy Eucharist presided over by His Excellency Francisco de Leon, D.D. bishop of Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines.
On March 25, 2017, the LMI Community honors three employees namely: Cerila Abrugar, Urcisio Acapulco, and Marlina Basanez, who will be retiring by May 2017. They have been serving the seminary for the past 25-30 years.
On March 21, 2017, Fr. Simon Jin said his thanksgiving mass at the Lorenzo Mission Institute. He was studied philosophy and theology at the San Carlos Seminary in Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City, Philippines and was ordained in 2016.
On March 15, 2017, seminarian Aidan Zaballero defended his thesis entitled: The Contribution of Women Missionaries in the New Testament and Its implication to the Federation of the Filipino-Chinese Catholic Women’s Organization (FFCCWO) to obtain the Master of Arts in Theology Major in Missiology.
On March 13, 2017, five theology seminarians of the Lorenzo Mission Institute who are finishing their courses take their Comprehensive Examinations before 3 priest-panelists. These seminarians were: Aidan Zaballero, LRMS, Riel Palmario, LRMS, Joel Bonina, LRMS, Andrew Wu, and Peter Xu.
The Lorenzo Mission Institute faithfully observes the discipline of Lent like the via crucis. It is always the tradition of LMI to pray for priests all over the world in every Way of the Cross they make.
The Lorenzo Mission Institute congratulates Socrates Mesiona, MSP, D.D. who was ordained as bishop and the local ordinary of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa, Philippines on 10 February 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. He was one of the Professors of Missiology in the Seminary.
The Lorenzo Mission Institute seminarians underwent Human Formation seminars on 29 January 2017, the first of a series for the year. Human Formation seminars are conducted to improve personal maturity growth and stabilize community cohesion. The Human Formation activities were facilitated by Giselle Valderrama.

The Lorenzo Mission Institute community made a pilgrimage to the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in their annual Marian Pilgrimage on August 15, 2016.
On July 16, 2016, Bishop Jesse Mercado, D.D. of the Diocese of Paranaque installed LMI seminarians to the Sacred Ministries.
Seminarians Tom Calingasan, Romil Dedoroy, Ramil Ostia and Inocencio Ragas received the rites of Admission as Candidates to the Sacred Orders.
Seminarian John Paulo Yap was installed as Acolyte.
Seminarian Robert Arellano was installed as Lector.
Seminarian Mario Avelino Mendoza Jr. was installed as Lector.
on June 29, 2016 the Lorenzo Mission Institute opened its annual intramurals with their theme “Mens sana in corpore sano.” (a sound mind in a healthy body). The whole community was divided into 4 teams: Titans, Trojans, Gladiators, and the Spartans.
On June 27- July 2, 2016, the Couples for Christ (CFC) had made their first Mission Conference 101 at the Lorenzo Mission Institute. The members of the Philippine Association of Catholic Missiologists (PACM) were chosen to be their speakers for the event.
On June 26, 2016 Seminarians Mario Avelino Mendoza Jr. and Robert Arellano (upper photo) made their first Temporal Commitment; Seminarians Joel Bonina, LRMS, John Paulo Yap, LRMS, Riel Palmario, LRMS, and Aidan Zaballero, LRMS (center photo) made their Renewal of Temporal Commitment; Rev. Mark Anthony Balderama, LRMS and Rev. Erickson Edora, LRMS (lower photo) made their perpetual commitment before Msgr. Noly Que, LRMS, Father Moderator of the Lorenzo Ruiz Mission Society at 9 o’clock in the morning on the occasion of the celebration of the Feast day of St. Peter the Apostle Parish.
On June 27, 2016, Fr. John Erick Villa celebrated his thanksgiving mass at the Lorenzo Mission Institute. He was ordained on May 13, 2016 for the Diocese of San Francisco. He was a former seminarian of LMI in 2003.
On June 20, 2016, an academic act was organized by the Theology and Philosophy Departments of San Carlos Seminary Graduate School of Theology. The Topic centered on Amoris Laetitia. Aside from the seminarians of San Carlos Seminary, Holy Apostles Seminary and the Lorenzo Mission Institute who attended, there were 180 members from the Couples for Christ (CFC) who came to attend. Two distinguished speakers were assigned on the topic: Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, D.D. (Archbishop of Manila) and Bishop Gilbert Garcera, D.D. (Bishop of Daet).
On June 20, 2016 Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, D.D. presided over the Mass of the Holy Spirit at the Rector of the Seminary to officially start the classes for this semestral break.
