Promise of Celibacy

On April 6, 2017, five seminarians of the Lorenzo Mission Institute took their profession of faith and promise of celibacy before their Rector, Fr. Jose Vidamor B. Yu, LRMS in preparation and as a requirement for Ordination to the Diaconate. Those who made this undertaking were: Seminarians Peter Xu, Andrew Wu, Joel Bonina, LRMS, Riel Palmario, LRMS, and Aidan Zaballero, LRMS.

Graduation 2017

On March 26, 2017, nine seminarians among these graduates are from the Lorenzo Mission Institute. 5 graduated in Theology while 4 graduated in Philosophy. The graduation was held at the San Carlos Seminary Chapel and was preceded by the Holy Eucharist presided over by His Excellency Francisco de Leon, D.D. bishop of Antipolo, Rizal, Philippines.

Retirees

On March 25, 2017, the LMI Community honors three employees namely: Cerila Abrugar, Urcisio Acapulco, and Marlina Basanez, who will be retiring by May 2017. They have been serving the seminary for the past 25-30 years.

Thanksgiving Mass

On March 21, 2017, Fr. Simon Jin said his thanksgiving mass at the Lorenzo Mission Institute. He was studied philosophy and theology at the San Carlos Seminary in Guadalupe Viejo, Makati City, Philippines and was ordained in 2016.

Thesis Defense

On March 15, 2017, seminarian Aidan Zaballero defended his thesis entitled: The Contribution of Women Missionaries in the New Testament and Its implication to the Federation of the Filipino-Chinese Catholic Women’s Organization (FFCCWO) to obtain the Master of Arts in Theology Major in Missiology.

Pilgrimage 2017

On March 10, 2017, the Lorenzo Mission Institute Community made their Lenten Pilgrimage (Visita Iglesia) to the significant old churches in Bulacan. Its prayers and way of the Cross was in line with the Year of the Parish and Basic Ecclesial Communities.

Kapatiran 2017

On March 4, 2017, the “Kapatiran” or the Seminarians’ Network of Diocesan Major Seminaries converge at the University of Sto. Tomas Central Seminary to celebrate the Kapatiran 2017. It was participated by 900 seminarians coming from the Luzon area. The next Kapatiran gathering will be held in Immaculate Conception Major Theology, Malolos Bulacan in 2018.

Apostolate Evaluation 2017

On February 25-26,2017, the Lorenzo Mission Institute held its annual apostolate evaluation in Calatagan, Batangas. It was also a time for rest and bonding for the entire community. It was an occasion to anticipate new programs for the apostolate next Academic Year.

Walk For Life

On February 18, 2017, the Lorenzo Mission Institute joined the CBCP’s call to “Walk for Life” a as sign that they are not in favor of “Death Penalty” which is planned by the current administration to be revived. The march was held in Luneta Park, Manila and it was also participated by the evangelical groups, and other institutions against the revival of the death penalty.

Apostolate 2017

The Lorenzo Mission Institute celebrates the annual Apostolate day on February 19, 2017. It was participated by the BEC groups coming from the 4 parishes where LMI priests serve namely: San Jose de Trozo Parish, St. Peter Parish, Paco, Immaculate Conception Parish, Damar, and San Lorenzo Ruiz Parish, Binondo. This annual gathering marks also the culmination of the program for the School Year 2016-2017 with the theme: BIGKIS.

New Bishop

The Lorenzo Mission Institute congratulates Socrates Mesiona, MSP, D.D. who was ordained as bishop and the local ordinary of the Apostolic Vicariate of Puerto Princesa, Philippines on 10 February 2017 at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral. He was one of the Professors of Missiology in the Seminary.

Human Formation

Intramurals 2016

Academic Act

academic1academicOn June 20, 2016, an academic act was organized by the Theology and Philosophy Departments of San Carlos Seminary Graduate School of Theology. The Topic centered on Amoris Laetitia. Aside from the seminarians of San Carlos Seminary, Holy Apostles Seminary and the Lorenzo Mission Institute who attended, there were 180 members from the Couples for Christ (CFC) who came to attend. Two distinguished speakers were assigned on the topic: Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, D.D. (Archbishop of Manila) and Bishop Gilbert Garcera, D.D. (Bishop of Daet).

Mass of the Holy Spirit
